Negative Capability - Wikipedia entry of the day ...

Negative Capability - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

"Negative Capability is a theory of the poet John Keats, expressed in his letter to George and Thomas Keats dated Sunday, 21 December 1817.

I had not a dispute but a disquisition with Dilke, on various subjects; several things dovetailed in my mind, & at once it struck me, what quality went to form a Man of Achievement especially in literature & which Shakespeare possessed so enormously - I mean Negative Capability, that is when man is capable of being in uncertainties, Mysteries, doubts without any irritable reaching after fact & reason

Keats believed that great people (especially poets) have the ability to accept that not everything can be resolved."

DSL Hell

For days my DSL has been vexing me, cutting out a few times an hour! I've plugged and replugged and coiled and uncoiled cable. Nothing worked and I almost resorted to calling the help line so that they could tell me nothing was wrong. Until I tried reversing which end of the phone cable goes into the wall jack and which goes into the extender cable that reaches set-up.

And that seems to have worked.

Where does the time go?

Don't answer that. Anyway it's been days since I blogged here, and all I have to say right now is that I am looking forward to seeing my writer's group friends: Johnzo, Michael, Nisi, Sabrina, Victoria tomorrow afternoon, after too long a summer hiatus!
